With the new year coming soon, I thought I would reflect or meditate on some quotes of wisdom:
Zen is not some kind of excitement, but merely concentration on our usual everyday routine.
—Shunkyu Suzuki
The quieter you become, the more you can hear.
—Baba Ram Dass
We shape clay into a pot, but it is the emptiness inside that holds whatever we want.
—Lao Tzu
zen quotes cited: {web page}
“The only real valuable thing is intuition.”
–Albert Einstein ( page cited)
“Those who have no compassion have no wisdom. Knowledge, yes; cleverness, maybe; wisdom, no. A clever mind is not a heart. Knowledge doesn’t really care. Wisdom does.”
—from the Tao of Pooh (page cited)
may the new year be a pot filled only with wisdom!

i particularly love the last quote. thanks for that!
happy new 2009 to you.
Chris’s Reply: Thats my favorite, too. Happy new 2009 to you as well!

Thank you Jane,
Happy new years to you and to everyone, from Pennsylvania!
Wisdom whispers, knowledge thunders. Let’s bridge and balance both our so called good and bad things. The folly is that we can not define or confine ‘living’ force. May the new year 2009 bring us more strength and clarity to ’see’.
Really good gems of words in the post here to meditate upon and jump to a new paradigm of life.
lovely quotes. Especially this one -
“The quieter you become, the more you can hear.”
the whole basis for meditation. Peace, serenity, balance.
Thanks sulachanosho,
clarity comes when knowledge and wisdom “see” one-and-other another clearly.
I suppose clarity is an on going process of of un-confining our living force.
…
Thank for you comment ggw_bach.
One cannot be listening if one is chattering.
Meditating is listening.
